How Skin Needling Treatment Works
During a skin needling treatment, a device equipped with fine needles is gently passed over the skin’s surface, creating microscopic punctures or "micro-injuries." The procedure is minimally invasive and can be used on various areas of the body, including the face, neck, and hands, to address a range of skin concerns.

How to Prepare for a Skin Needling Treatment
Before undergoing skin needling, it's important to prepare your skin by avoiding sun exposure, and certain skincare products, such as retinol, for at least a week prior. You should also avoid chemical peels or any treatments that may irritate your skin. On the day of your treatment, arrive with clean skin free from makeup, dirt, and oils.
You can apply numbing cream to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. This is available to purchase in the clinic or at your closest pharmacy.

What to do after a Skin Needling Treatment
You may experience redness or slight swelling, similar to mild sunburn, but this typically subsides within a few hours to a day.
Your clinician will explain all aftercare post skin needling. This includes the use of two SkinPen products to assist with hydration and moisture. For the first 24 hours, avoid any skincare products, aside from these SkinPen products, including the use of cleanser and SPF. As you will not have SPF on the skin, avoid direct sun exposure.
We recommend avoiding strenuous activities that could cause excessive sweating for up to 72 hours.
No active ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A or exfoliants are to be used on the skin for 5-7 days.

Skin needling is suitable for all skin types and tones, and it can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, such as acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture. However, it is not recommended for individuals with active skin infections, rosacea, or certain skin conditions.
Side effects are generally minimal and temporary. After treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, or mild bruising, which typically resolves within a few hours to a day. Some individuals may also experience slight dryness or flaking in the days following treatment, but these side effects are usually short-lived.
For optimal results, a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart is typically recommended. However, some improvement can be seen after just one treatment. The exact number of sessions depends on individual skin concerns and desired outcomes.
Most clients experience minimal discomfort during skin needling. You may feel a slight tingling or prickling sensation during the treatment, but it's generally well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream can be applied to the area beforehand to reduce the sensation.
