DOT THERAPY CO₂ LASER

How does DOT Therapy CO₂ Laser work?

DOT (Dermal Optical Thermolysis) Therapy is an advanced fractional CO₂ laser treatment that creates thousands of microscopic, controlled columns of thermal energy within the skin.

These micro-treatment zones stimulate the body's natural healing response, encouraging collagen remodelling while improving fine lines and wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation and skin rejuvenation.

Because healthy tissue remains between each treatment zone, healing is typically faster and recovery is reduced compared to traditional fully ablative CO₂ laser resurfacing.

DEKA DOT Therapy CO₂ Laser FAQs

Do I need a consultation before a DOT Therapy CO₂ Laser? Plus

At Vitality Laser & Skin Clinic, we recommend a Visia Skin Consultation for all first-time clients before doing any treatments. This initial consultation is important for ensuring that you’re a suitable candidate for a DOT Therapy CO₂ laser treatment and to make sure we’re addressing your concerns to achieve your desired outcome.

How does DOT Therapy CO₂ Laser differ from traditional CO₂ Lasers? Plus

Traditional full-field CO₂ lasers treat the entire skin surface, whereas DOT (Dermal Optical Thermolysis) uses fractional technology to deliver laser energy in thousands of microscopic treatment zones, leaving healthy skin untouched between each one. While each microscopic column still achieves controlled ablation, the surrounding untreated tissue accelerates the skin's natural healing response, allowing for faster recovery while still delivering effective skin resurfacing.

What is the difference between CoolPeel CO₂ Laser and DOT Therapy CO₂ Laser? Plus

Both DOT Therapy and CoolPeel use advanced fractional CO₂ laser technology, but they differ in treatment intensity, downtime and the concerns they are designed to address.

CoolPeel is a lighter resurfacing treatment that targets the skin's surface to improve mild texture, fine lines and overall skin quality with minimal downtime, typically 1–3 days.

DOT Therapy is a more intensive fractional CO₂ treatment that creates deeper microscopic treatment zones within the skin, making it better suited for concerns such as deeper wrinkles, acne scarring, sun damage and more advanced textural changes. As a result, DOT Therapy generally involves a longer recovery period of around 5–10+ days but may provide more significant corrective results.

Your dermal clinician will recommend the most appropriate treatment based on your skin concerns, goals and lifestyle.
