Epi-Blading & Dermaplaning

EPI-BLADING & DERMAPLANING GEELONG

Epi-Blading / Dermaplaning for a smoother, more radiant complexion!

Epi-Blading – also known as Dermaplaning – is a gentle method of deeply exfoliating the skin and removing fine facial hair, like “peach fuzz”.  With this non-surgical skin treatment, a surgical blade is gently worked over the face, removing the outer layers of dead skin cells as well as any fine, vellus hair. A highly popular skin rejuvenation treatment available at our skin and laser clinic in Geelong, epi-blading is a great option for blonde hair that can’t be treated with laser hair removal.

If you’re looking for a non-invasive skin treatment that removes peach fuzz, improves the appearance of acne scarring, and reveals smoother, more radiant, and glowing skin, epi-blading could be perfect for you! Vitality Laser & Skin Clinic offers dermaplaning in Geelong, administered by our qualified Dermal Clinicians. Book an epi-blading facial / dermaplaning treatment today and enjoy smoother, more radiant skin.

EPI-BLADING

Benefits of Epi-Blading / Dermaplaning

Epi-Blading provides effective exfoliation while removing fine vellus hair, resulting in a smoother, brighter complexion. When combined with other skin treatments, it enhances the absorption of active ingredients in products such as HydraFacial serums or chemical skin peels. For optimal results, it’s advisable to consult with your clinician prior to treatment to tailor the approach to your skin’s needs.

EPI-BLADING

How Epi-Blading Works

A surgical blade is worked over the face, removing the outer layers of dead skin cells, with the benefit of removing any fine, vellus hair. At Vitality Laser & Skin Clinic in Geelong, our dermal clinicians include the application of either an enzyme peel to enhance exfoliation or a hydrating mask to infuse moisture into the skin during the treatment.

EPI-BLADING

How to Prepare for an Epi-Blading Facial

At your appointment, your clinician will perform a thorough skin consultation to ensure the skin barrier is intact prior to exfoliation.

We recommend minimising sun exposure the week before, as a sunburn would leave your skin too vulnerable for an epi-blading treatment. Additionally, avoid exfoliation at home for 3-5 days to minimise the risk of over-exfoliation.

EPI-BLADING

What to do after a Epi-Blading & Dermaplaning Treatment

Your clinician will provide you with ep-blading / dermaplaning aftercare and recommendations based on your skin’s needs following the treatment. For all clients, we recommend:

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 5-7 days following the treatment.
  • Physical sun protection is essential at all times.
  • Refrain from waxing or other hair removal methods for 7-14 days.
  • Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours post-treatment, including hot yoga, saunas, and steam rooms.
  • Don’t use exfoliating products, including AHAs, BHAs, or Vitamin A-based ingredients, for 5-7 days, or as directed by your clinician.

Epi-Blading / Dermaplaning FAQs

What’s the difference between epiblading and dermaplaning? Plus

There’s no difference! Epiblading and dermaplaning refer to the same technique utilising a surgical blade that’s worked over the face to remove the outer layers of dead skin cells, with the benefit of removing any fine, vellus hair.

Does epi-blading cause the hairs to grow back darker and thicker? Plus

No, an epi-blading facial won’t cause hair to grow back darker or thicker. The regrowth may feel different as instead of having a pointed edge in the first few days of growth, it will have a blunt edge. However, epi-blading facial treatment can’t stimulate hair growth.

Who should avoid epi-blading / dermaplaning? Plus

You should avoid Epiblading and Dermaplaning if you have irritated skin, skin infections or any of the following skin concerns:

How much does epiblading / dermaplaning cost? Plus

The cost of an epi-blading / dermaplaning treatment at our Geelong skin clinic is currently $130 with the inclusion of either an enzyme peel or hydrating mask.
