Exfoliate dead skin cells and remove peach fuzz for a smoother, radiant complexion!
Epi-Blading, also known as Dermaplaning, is a gentle method of deeply exfoliating the skin. A surgical blade is worked over the face removing the outer layers of dead skin cells, with the benefit of removing any fine, vellus hair. This treatment is a great option for blonde hair that cannot be treated with laser hair removal.
EPI-BLADING
Benefits of Epi-Blading & Dermaplaning
Epi-Blading provides effective exfoliation while removing fine vellus hair, resulting in a smoother, brighter complexion. When combined with other treatments, it enhances the absorption of active ingredients in products such as HydraFacial serums or chemical peels. For optimal results, it is advisable to consult with your clinician prior to treatment to tailor the approach to your skin’s needs.

How Epi-Blading Works
A surgical blade is worked over the face removing the outer layers of dead skin cells, with the benefit of removing any fine, vellus hair. At Vitality, we include the application of either an enzyme peel to enhance exfoliation or a hydrating mask to infuse moisture into the skin.

How to Prepare for a Epi-Blading & Dermaplaning Treatment
At your appointment, your clinician will perform a thorough skin consultation to ensure the skin barrier is intact prior to exfoliation.
We recommend minimising sun exposure the week before, as a sunburn would leave your skin too vulnerable for an Epi-Blading treatment. As well as, avoiding exfoliation at home for 3-5 days to minimise the risk of over-exfoliation.

What to do after a Epi-Blading & Dermaplaning Treatment
Your clinician will provide you aftercare and recommendations based on your skin’s needs following the treatment. For all clients we recommend:
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 5-7 days following the treatment.
- Physical sun protection is essential at all times.
- Refrain from waxing or other hair removal methods for 7-14 days.
- Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours post-treatment, including hot yoga, saunas, and steam rooms.
- Do not use exfoliating products, including AHAs, BHAs, or Vitamin A-based ingredients, for 5-7 days, or as directed by your clinician.
What our Clients are Saying
There is no difference! Epiblading and Dermaplaning refer to the same technique utilising a surgical blade that is worked over the face removing the outer layers of dead skin cells, with the benefit of removing any fine, vellus hair.
No, Epi-Blading & Dermaplaning does not cause hair to grow back darker or thicker. The regrowth may feel different as instead of having a pointed edge in the first few days of growth, it will have a blunt edge. However, the treatment cannot stimulate hair growth.
You should avoid Epiblading and Dermaplaning if you have irritated skin, skin infections or any of the following:
- Active acne
- Active rosacea
- Eczema, psoriasis
Results from Epiblading & Dermaplaning can last 3-4 weeks.
$130 with the inclusion of either an enzyme peel or hydrating mask.
