How Does Pico Genesis FX Work?
Pico Genesis FX utilises a Micro Lens Array (MLA) to send fractionated laser energy deep into the skin. This laser energy causes tiny injuries into the deeper layers of the skin, initiating the skin’s natural healing responses to promote collagen production and thus improving the appearance of textural irregularities such as deep wrinkles and scarring.
The term fractionated laser refers to the delivery of laser beams in a pattern of tiny dots rather than a continuous beam.

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?
Upon arrival you’ll be asked to fill out a consultation form which includes questions about your skin type, medical conditions, previous laser and skin treatments, etc.
One of our Dermal Clinicians will then have a private discussion with you to determine your main skin concerns and desired treatment outcomes. They’ll suggest a tailored plan and discuss the details of the treatment, including pre- and post-care.

Pico FX is an advanced laser modality and therefore may feel uncomfortable dependent on your personal tolerance.
However, our experienced Dermal Clinicians will work with you to ensure appropriate measures are taken to minimise discomfort, which can include the use of numbing cream, cooling devices and/or ice packs.
With these measures in place, clients find the treatment tolerable – and the results motivating!

Clients can generally return to normal activities immediately following treatment. However, some clients may experience mild to moderate redness and tiny blood spots under the skin called “petechiae”, which is relatively common following treatment and will resolve within 5-7 days.
A histamine response may be experienced, which can cause bumpy and itchy skin. This is normal and usually calms within 5 days. An antihistamine can be taken to alleviate symptoms such as itchiness.
Mineral make-up can be used to minimise the appearance of redness, and your Dermal Clinician will provide aftercare recommendations, including skincare products like healing serums and sunscreen that can enhance your treatment outcome.
